Senior Structural Design Engineer

About the role

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a Senior Structural Design Engineer to design complex mechanical and structural airframe installation packages for new and retrofit aircraft. The role involves creating engineering drawings, collaborating with certification, production and flight test teams, and supporting fleet sustainment and STC projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed mechanical/structural design models and create assembly/installation drawings.
• Coordinate project information in the configuration management system and assist with pricing and quoting.
• Support marketing, field service, flight test and FAA certification activities, acting as liaison to manufacturing.
• Perform preliminary stress analysis, functional hazard analysis and systems safety analysis as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Minimum 7 years of aerospace structural design experience.
• US person under ITAR definition.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CATIA V5 (or similar 3D modeling software).
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and SAP.
• Knowledge of aviation/aerospace structural design requirements, industry standards and FAA regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
