About the role

Barn2Door is a fast‑growing food‑tech startup helping farmers manage and grow their businesses. As a Senior Software Engineer you will drive technical innovation, mentor the team, and build AI‑enhanced services for farmers nationwide.

Key responsibilities

• Create high‑quality, maintainable code with AI tooling and mentor others to do the same.
• Coach the team through code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Design, develop, and test scalable solutions, optimizing performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with product owners to define scope for upcoming releases.
• Build and improve testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies.

Required profile

• Comfortable mentoring and collaborating across a distributed team.
• Excited about using AI tools and coaching teammates.
• Able to make decisions independently and know when to seek management sign‑off.
• Thrives in a dynamic startup environment and handles ambiguity well.
• Strong communicator able to explain ideas to non‑technical business leaders.

Required skills

• BS in Computer Science or comparable degree.
• 6+ years full‑stack development with an object‑oriented language.
• 2+ years building responsive UIs with modern JS frameworks (React, Vue, etc.).
• 3+ years leading technical design of scalable systems.
• 1+ years AI‑assisted development using tools such as Claude Code, OpenCode, GitHub Copilot.
• Experience with Node.js, React, AWS, Terraform.
• Bonus: Stripe, Redis, PostgreSQL, large‑scale data analytics.
