Senior Software Engineer - Internal Apps

About the role

A new function is being built to create full-stack tools and AI-powered services for GTM, Finance, Support and Product, using DDN's enterprise data platform. The role defines and builds this product portfolio, with data and analytics engineers owning the underlying data while you own the frontend, backend, deployment and model integration.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and operate full-stack web apps (FastAPI/Flask and React/TypeScript today, with open technology choices) that give stakeholders decision-support interfaces and operational tools
• Build AI/LLM-powered features such as classification, extraction, summarization, copilots and agentic workflows, choosing models, providers and frameworks that fit the problem
• Deploy and operate apps on GCP (App Engine, Cloud Run, GKE), connect them to the data platform, manage authentication, and own CI/CD and app security
• Define what good looks like for the new function: which problems deserve a custom app versus a BI dashboard, what reusable building blocks to use, and how to ship reliable, observable services
• Partner with stakeholders to scope tools, with analytics engineers on data models and data engineers on platform constraints

Required profile

• 5+ years building production software, with meaningful time on full-stack web applications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• Experience developing and deploying AI/LLM-powered applications in production, including prompt design, structured output, evaluation and cost/latency trade-offs
• Experience operating what you ship: logging, monitoring, error handling and debugging in production
• Experience with software engineering best practices: CI/CD, automated testing, observability and secure application design

Required skills

• Strong Python (FastAPI, Flask or similar), data access patterns, packaging and testing
• TypeScript/React (or comparable framework), component design and interactive data UIs
• GCP application services (App Engine, Cloud Run, GKE, IAM)
• SQL and cloud data warehouses (BigQuery), including query cost awareness
• Nice to have: LLM provider APIs and agent frameworks (e.g. Claude, LangGraph), managed AI/ML platforms (Vertex AI, SageMaker), dbt, Airflow, Terraform, and data-heavy UIs
