Senior Software Engineer - Data Engine

About the role

Applied Intuition’s Axion Data team is building a data engine that powers perception models for edge devices. As a Senior Software Engineer you will develop both the edge application that runs perception stacks and the cloud pipeline that ingests video data, trains models, and redeploys them to the edge.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement optimized data pipelines for large‑scale ML model execution.
• Evolve the data engine architecture to scale high‑fidelity labeling, cut annotation costs, and speed up ML iteration cycles.
• Integrate foundation models such as LLMs, VLMs, and multimodal models to automate labeling, quality assurance, and data discovery.
• Build MLOps tooling to provide visibility and insight into the end‑to‑end pipeline.
• Conduct software‑in‑the‑loop and hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing.
• Collaborate with DoD customers to understand use cases, gather requirements, and support field events.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering or data engineering.
• Strong background in machine learning infrastructure and data‑centric AI.
• Experience running large‑scale GPU jobs and building microservices or database‑backed systems.
