Senior WordPress Developer

About the role

Intetics, a technology company specializing in custom software development, team distribution, software quality assessment and digital solutions, is looking for a Senior WordPress Developer. The role treats WordPress as a modern engineering platform and involves building and scaling high-traffic multilingual web platforms with strong attention to performance, security, scalability and code quality.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain custom themes, plugins and Gutenberg blocks across a portfolio of high-traffic, multilingual WordPress sites
• Develop libraries, block collections, Composer packages and tooling that speed up delivery across teams
• Refactor legacy code, optimize queries and caching, and improve Core Web Vitals metrics
• Build and consume REST APIs and integrations with internal and third-party systems
• Take part in code reviews, CI/CD improvements and engineering standards initiatives
• Work with product, marketing, SEO, content and QA teams on new features and site improvements
• Document technical decisions and contribute to engineering best practices

Required profile

• 5+ years of WordPress development experience
• Strong Object-Oriented PHP (8.x) skills, with namespaces, PSR standards and Composer
• Deep knowledge of WordPress Core APIs and hooks, custom post types, taxonomies, WP_Query and metadata APIs
• Solid production experience building Gutenberg blocks, React and JSX, and RESTful APIs
• Modern JavaScript (ES6+), Webpack or Vite, and modern CSS (Sass, PostCSS)
• WordPress security, sanitization, escaping, nonces and user capabilities
• Performance optimization, object caching and query optimization
• Git, pull requests and CI/CD pipelines; comfort with AI-assisted development tools
• Good written and spoken English
