AI Research Scientist – Multimodal Foundational Models

About the role

The Bosch Research and Technology Center in North America is seeking an AI Research Scientist to lead research on multimodal foundational models that fuse multi‑sensor data for advanced driver assistance systems and other Bosch AI products.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead AI projects that label, predict, classify, cluster and fuse multi‑sensor data (acoustic, telemetry, vibration, radar, lidar, image, Wi‑Fi, ultrasound) to enhance ADAS functionality.
• Architect, design and validate multimodal deep‑learning and Time‑Series Foundation Models (TSFM) for multivariate time‑series signals.
• Integrate time‑series models with auxiliary modalities such as video and images to improve context understanding.
• Provide expert insights to management for strategic planning, R&D trajectory and investment decisions.
• Document and disseminate research findings through high‑impact publications and patent submissions.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology or related field, or a Master’s degree with 2‑3 years of relevant experience.
• Strong publication record in top venues (e.g., NeurIPS, CVPR, ICML, ICLR) or equivalent contributions such as patents or open‑source projects.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork capabilities.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• Deep‑learning frameworks: PyTorch, torchaudio, torchvision, torchmetrics, PyTorch Lightning.
• Signal‑processing expertise for sensor data.
• Version control with Git and IDEs such as VSCode or PyCharm.
• Experiment tracking tools (MLFlow) and HPC job schedulers (Slurm, LSF).
