Senior Software Engineer - Backend (Data)

About the role

Read AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Data organization, responsible for building and scaling the backend services that power AI‑enhanced meetings. You will own critical data flows, ML infrastructure, and real‑time processing pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that support real‑time audio/video processing, transcription, and inference.
• Own end‑to‑end components from conception through deployment, ensuring high reliability and uptime.
• Optimize data pipelines, storage solutions, and integrate third‑party LLM providers.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve infrastructure issues, applying best practices for testing and CI/CD.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Proven backend development expertise in Python, Java, or Go.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
• Experience with relational and non‑relational databases, data modeling, and database management.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced startup environment with high autonomy.
