Senior Site Infrastructure Engineer

About the role

Shield AI is looking for a Senior Site Infrastructure Engineer to plan, design, document and support physical IT infrastructure across offices, labs, manufacturing environments and data centers. The role sits in the Cloud & Infrastructure team and partners with network, systems, security and facilities groups to deliver scalable, reliable site services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement rack layouts, structured copper/fiber cabling, power and cooling capacity, and MDF/IDF infrastructure for new and existing sites.
• Lead site build‑outs, office expansions, relocations, data‑center deployments and hardware refreshes, producing detailed rack elevations, connectivity diagrams and bills of materials.
• Administer DCIM, IPAM and CMDB platforms (e.g., Nautobot, NetBox, Device42) and maintain accurate equipment records and labeling standards.
• Manage circuit inventory, capacity planning and coordination with carriers, colocation providers and field‑service vendors.
• Collaborate with Network, Systems and Cloud Engineering to ensure infrastructure supports compute, storage, wireless, security and hybrid cloud connectivity.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in data‑center, enterprise site or physical IT infrastructure engineering.
• Proven ability to create and maintain rack elevations, physical diagrams and infrastructure documentation.
• Strong knowledge of power distribution (A/B, UPS/PDU), cooling, redundancy and circuit capacity planning.
• Experience interpreting architectural drawings, low‑voltage designs and vendor specifications.
• Ability to travel periodically for site deployments and to guide junior engineers.

Required skills

• DCIM/IPAM/CMDB tools such as Nautobot, NetBox, Device42.
• Structured copper/fiber cabling and rack design.
• MDF/IDF design and equipment sizing.
• UPS/PDU systems and power redundancy.
• Enterprise networking concepts: switching, wireless, WAN connectivity.
• Familiarity with AWS and Azure hybrid connectivity.
• Vendor platforms: Juniper, Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, Dell, APC, Vertiv.
• Relevant certifications (BICSI, CDCP, CCNA/CCNP).
