Senior Site Chemist – Environmental Laboratory

About the role

BASF is seeking a Senior Site Chemist to lead its Environmental Laboratory in Palmyra, MO. The role supports the Agricultural Solutions division by ensuring analytical quality, troubleshooting manufacturing issues, and driving continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the site Cross‑Contamination Program and manage the Standards Distribution program for the Americas.
• Perform non‑routine analytical testing to troubleshoot production and laboratory issues.
• Develop, verify, and validate analytical methods and update related documentation.
• Introduce new products, methodologies, and laboratory instrumentation, providing training and technology transfer.
• Research and evaluate new analysis technologies for manufacturing and laboratory use.
• Supervise and develop direct reports in the Environmental Laboratory.

Required profile

• BS/BA in Chemistry or related field with at least 6 years of analytical laboratory experience (MS/PhD candidates need 3 years).
• Strong experience in data review, interpretation, and troubleshooting of analytical tests.
• Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
