Senior Sales Specialist - Drives & Motors (Metals)

About the role

ABB is hiring a Senior Sales Specialist for its Automation Business Area, reporting to the Sales Manager NAM - Metals. The role covers sales of products, systems and services within the Metals Industry, in line with the division strategy, and aims to deliver sustainable order growth, revenues, profitability, market share and customer satisfaction. It sits in the Metals and Power Conversion group of the Process Industries division, serving steel, aluminum, copper and other metals manufacturers. The work model is hybrid, with travel required for work and work from home otherwise.

Key responsibilities

• Communicate delivery times, payment terms and general conditions to customers in line with ABB's offering and strategy
• Promote marketing activities and the value proposition to customers
• Identify and develop new market opportunities in the designated market
• Manage designated accounts in the Metals Industry, driving AC and DC drives, motors, switchgears, MCC and other relevant portfolios
• Create new leads and business opportunities for new and existing customers
• Handle administrative procedures in sales, support cash collection and project management when needed

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or equivalent education
• 7+ years of experience in the metals industry, with knowledge of processes and applications such as material handling, primary metals (melting and casting), hot and cold rolling mills and processing lines
• Techno-commercial account management experience for solutions and service businesses
• Ability to build relationships with existing and new customers and to learn process-industry tools
• Fluent English

Required skills

• Knowledge of AC, DC drives, motors, switchgears, MCCs and process automation
• General business software such as MS Office and SFDC
