Senior Risk Engineering Consultant – Construction Specialties

About the role

Zurich is seeking a Senior Risk Engineering Consultant for its Builders Risk line of business. The position is virtual, based in Florida with periodic office visits, and includes a company car with 25‑30% travel.

Key responsibilities

• Leverage Zurich’s risk engineering tools to assess and improve risk for construction customers.
• Conduct remote and onsite surveys, risk assessments, and operational reviews of construction projects.
• Provide technical support to underwriters, claims, and customers, preparing internal and external reports.
• Manage business partner relationships and represent Zurich in the region.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of engineering, construction management, or building technology experience, or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience working in a team environment and willingness to undergo a motor vehicle record background check.

Required skills

• Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other risk engineering tools.
• Advanced Microsoft Office, iOS/iPad, and virtual consulting applications.
• Technical knowledge of construction processes, quality management, and risk mitigation.
• Professional certifications such as CCM, P.E., PMP, AIA, LEED AP (preferred).
