Director - Facilities

About the role

The Facilities Director will lead a large team responsible for the operation, maintenance and safety of 80 buildings, including five hospitals and 75 ambulatory sites across the Florida market. The role ensures a safe, functional and comfortable environment for patients, families and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise facilities caregivers, providing leadership, training, coaching and mentoring across a multi‑county footprint.
• Oversee installation, inspections, repairs, troubleshooting and daily maintenance of building systems, equipment and grounds.
• Coordinate work with departments and contractors to support system‑wide initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory codes.
• Develop and monitor preventive maintenance programs, budgets, inventory and capital projects.
• Participate in the Environment of Care Committee and ensure fire‑life safety system integrity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or related field (or four years upper‑level facilities management experience).
• Six years of experience as a qualified tradesperson or technician and three years of supervisory/managerial experience.
• Professional certifications such as CHFM, CHC, CHSP (required within 12 months of hire).
• Knowledge of healthcare regulatory codes and ability to ensure departmental compliance.
• Experience managing large, multi‑site healthcare facilities and leading teams of 70+ indirect reports.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
