HVAC Technician – Evening Shift with Call

About the role

The HVAC Technician will join the Facilities Engineering team at Tradition Hospital, providing essential heating, ventilation, air‑conditioning and refrigeration services for a 177‑room acute‑care facility. This full‑time, evening‑shift position includes on‑call responsibilities to ensure a safe, comfortable environment for patients, families and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, perform preventive maintenance, service, repair and install HVAC, refrigeration and related control systems.
• Respond to urgent facility calls, equipment malfunctions and environmental issues, complying with Joint Commission and regulatory standards.
• Monitor central energy plant and building systems for safety hazards, deficiencies and aesthetic improvements.
• Coordinate shutdown activities, assist outside contractors, and maintain necessary parts and tools.

Required profile

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Three to five years of experience as an HVAC technician, preferably in a healthcare setting.
• Fundamental mechanical ability and knowledge of federal, state and local codes.

Required skills

• HVAC system inspection and preventive maintenance.
• Refrigeration and control system repair and installation.
• Use of hand and power tools with appropriate personal protective equipment.
