Senior Research Scientist – Robotics AI

About the role

Join Bosch's Intelligent Autonomous Systems group as a Senior Research Scientist focusing on Robotics AI. You will drive cutting‑edge research in AI for ADAS, autonomous driving, industrial automation and robotics, translating breakthroughs into real‑world products.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and engineering in core AI and machine learning to enable embodied AI for ADAS/AD, robotics and industrial automation.
• Push AI‑based robotics forward by integrating large vision‑language‑action models for reasoning and explainability.
• Collaborate with global research and engineering teams to ensure seamless technology transfer and system integration.
• Implement research results to solve real‑world challenges within Bosch's platforms.
• Engage with academic and industry communities through conferences, workshops and technical events.
• Document and disseminate findings via high‑impact publications and patent submissions.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics or related field, or Master’s with ≥2‑4 years industry experience.
• Minimum 5 years of R&D experience in AI technologies, especially computer vision and motion/behavioral planning.
• Strong publication record in top machine‑learning, robotics or computer‑vision venues.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Programming: Python, C++, Rust.
• Machine‑learning frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch.
• Reinforcement learning (e.g., PPO, DQN, DDPG) for behavior or motion planning.
• Experience with multimodal transformer‑based models, vision‑language‑action models.
• Computer vision and deep‑learning techniques such as object detection, segmentation, 3D scene understanding, diffusion models, NeRF.
