Senior Project Manager – Hybrid (Auburn/Chico, CA)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead multi‑year utility projects from our Auburn/Chico offices. The role is hybrid, with roughly 50 % onsite and 50 % remote work, and follows a 4‑day, 10‑hour schedule while offering full‑time compensation.

Key responsibilities

• Define and validate project objectives and ensure they are achievable.
• Guide engineering teams in complex risk analyses, alternative studies, and conceptual designs for sponsor review.
• Oversee and administer EPC contracts in line with the ESC Work Oversight Committee.
• Negotiate third‑party contracts and support other departments as needed.
• Develop and champion company‑wide best‑practice standards.
• Present project status and recommendations to senior officers.
• Arbitrate and resolve project conflicts.
• Mentor less‑experienced project managers.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in project management, project controls, engineering or construction, preferably within the utility sector.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Strong knowledge of land acquisition, CPUC regulations, environmental permitting, and EPC contracting procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to collaborate across multiple business units.
• Proactive attitude toward learning new processes and driving continuous improvement.
