Senior Project Architect

About the role

DELV is seeking a Senior Project Architect to lead complex design and delivery projects from programming through construction closeout. The role involves technical direction, client coordination, and mentorship of junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Establish project delivery strategies, assign team responsibilities, and guide technical and design decisions.
• Lead client and consultant coordination, manage expectations, and support project managers on scope, schedule, and fee.
• Anticipate and resolve code, existing‑condition, and constructability issues while preserving design intent.
• Direct and review drawings and specifications, conduct quality reviews, and contribute to QA/QC across studio projects.
• Oversee construction administration and mentor architects and designers, sharing practical knowledge.

Required profile

• 10–14 years of professional architectural experience with a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree.
• Architectural license in Indiana or the candidate’s state of residence.
• Proven success leading complex projects, multidisciplinary teams, and client relationships.
• Strong technical judgment in codes, building systems, detailing, constructability, and construction administration.
• Experience mentoring staff and reviewing work for quality and completeness.
• Background in adaptive reuse, renovation, or historic preservation is strongly preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Revit.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.
• SketchUp proficiency (preferred).
