Water Mitigation Entry Level Technician

About the role

ServiceMaster Restore provides emergency restoration and disaster recovery services in Indianapolis. The Water Mitigation Entry Level Technician responds to work orders assigned by the Lead Technician or Crew Chief, performing water, fire, smoke and mold remediation repairs.

Key responsibilities

• Perform water, fire, smoke damage and mold remediation repair as directed by the supervisor, including water extraction, pack-out of contents, removal and disposal of non-salvageable materials, cleaning, light construction and demolition.
• Set up and monitor air movers and/or dehumidifiers.
• Carry out other cleaning duties such as construction cleaning, fire/smoke/odor cleaning, mold remediation and carpet and upholstery cleaning when part of mitigation or restoration jobs.
• Report equipment malfunctions and customer problems or damage to the supervisor.
• Complete assigned tasks according to company processes while maintaining quality control on each job.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Able to work within a team, take instruction and stay on task, and follow company guidelines and standards.
• Good verbal and written communication skills and good customer service skills.
• Can read and follow product label usage instructions.
• Reports to work on time in a clean, complete uniform.
• Physical demands: lifting up to 70 pounds, standing and walking for long periods, lifting, squatting, crawling and crouching; ability to wear a sealing respirator in some situations.
