Senior Program Analysis Engineer (Civil Engineer IV)

About the role

The State of Illinois, Department of Transportation, is hiring a Senior Program Analysis Engineer (Civil Engineer IV) in Peoria, Illinois. The position develops and monitors the district's Annual and Multi-Year Highway Improvement Programs in an efficient, cost-effective way, taking into account public needs and goals, and oversees GIS mapping assistance for district staff. It is a full-time, salaried union position with an anticipated starting salary of $6,281 per month.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in developing the district's Annual and Multi-Year Programs (MYP)
• Coordinate scoping activities and prepare programming cost estimates
• Coordinate data needed to keep records up to date in the Programming Planning System (PPS)
• Coordinate the status of annual and MYP data internally and with the Office of Planning and Programming
• Monitor the condition of the existing highway network and improvement needs
• Coordinate oversight of district GIS mapping projects
• Review preliminary and final plans so that project limits and proposed improvements match the MYP
• Perform duties in line with departmental safety rules and in a fair, equitable manner

Required profile

• Must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis; the state does not sponsor employment visas
• Bilingual skills are welcome

What we offer

• Office hours 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with a hybrid schedule of 1 to 5 days per week in the office
