Entry Level Technician - Disaster Restoration

About the role

This full-time entry-level position provides emergency restoration and disaster recovery services to customers after work orders are assigned by the Lead Technician or Crew Chief. The job is based in Peoria and involves hands-on mitigation and repair work.

Key responsibilities

• Perform water, fire, smoke damage and mold remediation repairs as directed by the supervisor, including water extraction, pack-out of contents, removal and disposal of non-salvageable materials, cleaning, light construction and demolition.
• Set up and monitor air movers and/or dehumidifiers.
• Carry out other cleaning duties such as construction cleaning, fire/smoke/odor cleaning, carpet and upholstery cleaning when part of mitigation or restoration jobs.
• Report equipment malfunctions and customer problems or damage to the supervisor.
• Complete assigned tasks according to company processes while maintaining quality control on each job.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Ability to work within a team, take instruction and stay on task.
• Follows company guidelines and standards; good verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
• Can read and follow product label instructions.
• Reports to work on time in a clean, complete uniform.
• Physical demands: lifting up to 70 pounds, standing and walking for long periods, lifting, squatting, crawling and crouching; ability to wear a sealing respirator in some situations.
