Senior Principal Medical Science Liaison – Surgical (Northeast/Mid‑Atlantic)

About the role

Alcon is seeking a Senior Principal Medical Science Liaison to lead scientific exchange and insight gathering for its surgical portfolio across the Northeast and Mid‑Atlantic regions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain peer‑to‑peer relationships with medical experts and key opinion leaders.
• Support the development and adoption of Alcon products through evidence‑based scientific exchange and gather external insights.
• Provide medical information to practitioners and Alcon associates, responding to unsolicited requests.
• Engage in scientific discussions around Alcon product data and implement medical projects, including investigator trials from inception to publication.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of Alcon products and current medical/scientific research.
• Work with Med Info and Med Safety to resolve product complaints, safety issues, and participate in adverse event reporting.
• Direct human clinical trials (Phase III and IV), monitor protocol adherence, and provide reporting for regulatory agencies.
• Serve as medical consultant to marketing, commercial, and research teams and act as liaison under licensing agreements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Fluent reading, writing, and communication skills in English.
• Experience in medical science liaison, clinical trials, and ophthalmic surgical portfolio preferred.
