Senior Piping Designer

About the role

The Senior Piping Designer will lead and coordinate the technical effort for multiple large-scale projects. Working with limited direction, the role involves developing solution approaches, evaluating complex issues, and ensuring project objectives are met within defined timeframes of six to twelve months.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare design and draft drawings of piping structures and systems using computer-aided design (CAD) tools while maintaining company quality and drafting standards.
• Identify cost-effective design solutions that stay within allocated budgets.
• Liaise with clients and sub-consultants to obtain project information and resolve design-related problems.
• Analyze complex technical situations, select appropriate methods and evaluation criteria, and document results.
• Coordinate technical efforts across multiple projects and ensure deliverables meet defined objectives.

Required profile

• Sr. Piping Designer IV – technical or trade school education with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Sr. Piping Designer III – technical or trade school education with at least 12 years of relevant experience.
• Sr. Piping Designer II – technical or trade school education (experience level not fully specified in posting).

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software for piping design.
• Strong ability to produce accurate design and draft drawings.
• Experience in cost-effective design problem solving.
