Senior Performance Analysis Engineer – Ground-based Missile Defense

About the role

APEX TK is seeking an experienced, team‑oriented Senior Performance Analysis Engineer to join its Huntsville, AL team. You will support the analysis and assessment of Ground‑based Missile Defense (GMD) systems for the Missile Defense Agency, evaluating weapon effectiveness and operational capability across diverse threat scenarios.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain MATLAB, Python, and C++ tools for medium‑fidelity modeling, simulation, and performance assessment of the Ground‑Based Interceptor (GBI) and Next Generation Interceptor (NGI).
• Execute and analyze modeling‑and‑simulation environments to evaluate interceptor performance under varied engagement scenarios and mission conditions.
• Perform rapid, time‑sensitive analyses for the In‑Flight Interceptor Communication System Data Terminal, including kinematic battlespace assessments.
• Analyze simulation results, identify performance trends, and provide technically sound recommendations to engineering teams, program leadership, and government stakeholders.

Required profile

• Active SECRET (or higher) security clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated experience supporting MDA GMD programs and evaluating missile‑defense engagement performance.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MATLAB (model development, data analysis, visualization).
• Advanced Python skills, including NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, and Matplotlib.
• Experience with C++ for simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of statistical analysis, numerical methods, optimization techniques, and simulation‑based performance assessment.
