Senior Test Engineer – Defense Systems

About the role

The Senior Test Engineer will support an Army Project Office at Redstone Arsenal, working closely with government civilians, military personnel, and contractors. This position is critical for planning, executing, and documenting tests of advanced air and missile defense systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and case matrices for complex defense systems.
• Participate in SIL, HWIL, Distributed Ground Testing, System Qualification Testing, and Field Testing.
• Generate pre‑test documentation and post‑test reports, including incident resolution.
• Lead weekly test planning meetings and prepare technical presentations.
• Support major stakeholder meetings such as T&E WIPTs.
• Travel to DoD test ranges to conduct and oversee test operations.
• Maintain weekly reporting, including activity reports, SITREPs, test calendars, asset status, and executive summaries.

Required profile

• U.S. citizen with an active Secret security clearance.
• Master’s degree in a STEM field or a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of engineering experience focused on defense systems and government test projects.
• Proven ability to work in fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Strong communication, organizational, and mentorship skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of DoD test regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Experience with SIL (Software‑in‑the‑Loop) testing.
• Experience with HWIL (Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop) testing.
• Distributed Ground Testing expertise.
