Senior Payroll Specialist (GA, AZ) - On Site

About the role

Vensure Employer Solutions, a provider of HR technology, managed services and business process outsourcing, is hiring a Senior Payroll Specialist for Georgia and Arizona. The specialist processes payroll for an assigned client list and works closely with the Higginbotham HR Services team, including payroll, HR, benefits and FMLA professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll for clients using preferred payroll software and manage the time and attendance system, including training
• Review payroll reports, track PTO balances and handle new hires, status changes, direct deposit and tax changes, terminations and court-ordered deductions
• Run off-cycle payrolls and manual checks or calculations when requested
• Provide payroll reports (EEO-1, wage statements, 401(k), quarterly reporting) and answer client questions on payroll and time/attendance
• Help clients with year-end W-2s, new location and pay code set-up, and final pay/termination guidance
• Assist clients with tax notices and discrepancies through the payroll provider's tax department
• Work with the Benefit Specialist to set up benefit deductions and provide new hire and termination reports
• Provide employee headcounts for client billing, complete employment verifications and maintain personnel files

Required profile

• 3+ years of payroll experience; CPP or FPC preferred
• Solid understanding of HR and payroll processes and federal/state law
• Strong organizational, time management and attention to detail
• Excellent communication, customer service and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and with discretion

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Payroll administration and compliance knowledge
