Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Plastic Injection Molding

About the role

Johnson & Johnson Vision Care is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead plastic injection molding operations for its Vistakon® division in Jacksonville, Florida. The role focuses on ensuring high‑quality production of disposable contact lenses through advanced process and mechanical engineering expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and assess plastic injection molding processes and machine run‑ability.
• Design and implement preventative maintenance strategies to guarantee product quality and equipment reliability.
• Collaborate with sub‑contractors and vendors from project initiation through production.
• Identify and execute continuous‑improvement initiatives for manufacturing efficiency.
• Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience in plastic injection molding and mechanical engineering.
• Strong understanding of process engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to work at an advanced technical expertise level and lead improvement projects.
• Experience coordinating with external vendors and sub‑contractors.
