Job description
About the role
The Constructive Dialogue Institute (CDI), a non-partisan, non-profit that works with U.S. colleges and universities on student programming, faculty development and leadership guidance, is seeking a Senior Manager to be its qualitative expert behind campus consulting work. Reporting to the Senior Director of Campus Culture Change, the role is hands-on analysis: collecting and coding interview, focus group and survey data, turning it into findings that university partners act on, and building reports, memos and case studies.
Key responsibilities
- Collect and code interview, focus group and open-ended survey data across a portfolio of campus engagements, applying CDI's coding frameworks consistently
- Serve as lead liaison with the Research team and help update codeframes; coordinate data collection logistics with campus partners around the academic calendar
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify themes and patterns that inform recommendations and deliverables
- Own engagement deliverables: reports, memos, presentations and client-facing narratives, and present findings to external stakeholders
- Build qualitative case studies and institutional spotlights, and advise colleagues on measuring organizational culture
Required profile
- Trained qualitative researcher with 5+ years of applied experience, or a graduate degree with substantial fieldwork, having run interviews and focus groups
- Disciplined coder who keeps several engagements moving and knows when to escalate coding discrepancies
- Clear analytic writer who separates participant statements from inferences and integrates survey results with qualitative data
- Grounded in organizational culture measurement and able to coordinate with institutional research, academic leadership and student affairs
- Credible across perspectives and aligned with CDI's mission
Required skills
- Qualitative analysis software (Dovetail preferred; Dedoose, NVivo, ATLAS.ti or MAXQDA welcome)
- Use of AI to speed up coding and drafting
- Multi-coder QA or inter-rater reliability experience is a strong plus
What we offer
- Salary of $101,000-$113,000, remote work based in the U.S., reporting to the Senior Director of Campus Culture Change, target start date January 1, 2027
- Unlimited PTO plus 13 company holidays
- Health, vision and dental plans with monthly premium contributions, and a 401(k) match up to 3% of pay
- Annual professional development budget, up to $500 for home office equipment and up to $50/month for home internet or cell phone
