Senior Manager, Merch Services Projects

About the role

The Senior Manager, Merch Services Projects leads the team that plans merchandising transitions within Home Depot stores. The manager manages the time, scope and budget of in-store projects, leading direct reports and cross-functional partners to deliver projects on time, at high quality, with funding secured. The role reports to the Director of Merch Services Projects and has three direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with the Merchant group and other partners to set project priorities and ensure alignment (25%)
• Lead discussions on project scope, timing and funding with Merchants and partners for each assigned merchandising department (25%)
• Manage end-to-end portfolio and project management, including scope, schedule and budget control (20%)
• Handle associate development, recruiting and performance management (20%)
• Maintain timelines, quality and fiscal control, and provide metrics, evaluation and reporting (10%)

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• Preferred: Bachelor's degree, people management experience and PMP certification
• Minimum 8 years of work experience
• Typical working conditions: mostly sitting indoors, occasional lifting of light items, occasional overnight travel under 10% of the time

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Word
• Strong written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills
• Highly organized, able to multitask and make sound decisions
