Senior Manager, Medical Collections

About the role

The University of Miami/UHealth Central Business Office is seeking a full‑time Senior Manager, Medical Collections to act as the liaison between assigned clinical departments and their leaders. The role focuses on optimizing revenue, reducing claim delays, and minimizing denials by leveraging billing data.

Key responsibilities

• Train, oversee, and mentor collection staff to ensure timely and accurate activities.
• Collaborate with other managers to improve staffing and prioritize work.
• Prepare statistical reports, procedures, and systems that enhance collection functions.
• Audit problem accounts and resolve issues.
• Meet regularly with department leadership to discuss billing and collection improvements.
• Review, process, and approve billing adjustments, refunds, and transfers.
• Generate department and individual performance reports.
• Assess internal controls for compliance with university policies and ensure staff training on those controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum four years of relevant experience.
• Experience in operational management, organizational development, and financial oversight.
• Proven ability to lead teams and communicate effectively.

Required skills

• Proficiency with office software and related computer applications.
