Senior Linux Virtualization Engineer

About the role

Quvia is seeking a Senior Linux Virtualization Engineer to own and operate its Linux KVM hypervisor platform. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of the hypervisor fleet, from provisioning and configuration to monitoring, security, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain hypervisor golden configurations, including host build standards, kernel tuning, and VM templates.
• Manage the hypervisor lifecycle: image creation, patching, staged roll‑outs, and rollback procedures.
• Build and maintain automated bare‑metal provisioning pipelines (network boot, unattended installation, per‑host configuration, local repositories).
• Design, operate, and maintain a Prometheus‑based monitoring stack with dashboards and alerts covering OS, hypervisor, and hardware layers.
• Implement centralized log collection for the hypervisor fleet.
• Apply configuration management and drift detection across all hypervisors.
• Maintain security baselines using CIS hardening, automated compliance scans, vulnerability triage, patching, and centralized IAM.
• Maintain CI pipelines and testing for infrastructure changes.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in Linux system administration.
• Proven expertise with KVM (Kernel‑based Virtual Machine) hypervisors.
• Strong background in automation, bare‑metal provisioning, and infrastructure as code.
• Experience building monitoring and logging solutions for large fleets.
• Knowledge of security hardening standards (CIS) and compliance processes.
