Senior Designer, Layout

About the role

Analog Devices is hiring a Senior Designer, Layout for its Hearables and Wearables Consumer Business Unit. The role sits within the hearables and wearables design team, which creates high-performance edge processing solutions for connected voice-activated devices and wearable audio peripherals. The Senior Designer works independently on complex layout problems, represents the company on key projects and mentors less experienced team members.

Key responsibilities

• Handle diverse layout problems requiring in-depth analysis and evaluation
• Work with minimal supervision on complex assignments
• Mentor junior engineers on technical aspects and best practices
• Represent the organization on key projects and initiatives
• Independently design and implement complex integrated circuit layouts
• Perform advanced timing extraction and static timing analysis
• Evaluate process flows from vendor library analysis through power usage
• Contribute to IC architecture decisions and process improvements

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years of relevant experience
• Good understanding of business objectives and market position
• Strong group communication skills and ability to explain complex technical concepts

Required skills

• Advanced layout expertise and broad application of layout principles
• IC layout, CMOS technology, static timing analysis and power analysis
• EDA tools
• Ability to optimize layout designs for performance, power and manufacturability

The position involves about 10% travel and is a day shift. For roles requiring access to technical data, export licensing review may be required for applicants who are not US citizens or permanent residents.
