Senior Inventory Planning Analyst

About the role

HD Supply is looking for a Senior Inventory Planning Analyst to manage and analyze inventory levels for its business unit, keeping them at optimum levels and maximizing fill rate performance. The role also includes mentoring junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Use SAP and other systems to run tactical inventory control that maintains excellent customer service while managing inventory efficiently.
• Partner with Inventory Analytics and Merchandising to identify and fix fill rate issues and excess inventory.
• Monitor exception reports and daily analytics for key business metrics.
• Develop and run strategies for SKU transitions, seasonal trends and customer-specific positions.
• Align inventory controls (EOQ, min/max, safety stock, velocity rankings) with business objectives and communicate the impact of proposed changes.
• Manage supplier relations and work with suppliers on fill rate, lead time, damaged-in-transit and supplier return issues.
• Drive process improvement initiatives and share best practices with junior associates.

Required profile

• Typically a BS/BA in a related discipline, with 5-8 years of experience in a related field, or an MS/MA with 3-5 years of experience.
• Certification is required in some areas.
• Ability to solve complex problems independently, make decisions under uncertainty and occasionally oversee project work.
