Senior Instructional Designer – Training Curriculum

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Instructional Designer to lead the development of blended training curricula for Hydro Operations end users. The role combines needs analysis, curriculum mapping, and project management to deliver high‑impact technical training.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct needs assessments and front‑end analyses to define training requirements.
• Collaborate with Senior Learning Strategists and other Instructional Designers to design learning strategies, curriculum maps, and assessments.
• Review off‑the‑shelf courses with SMEs for inclusion in the technician curriculum.
• Guide the selection and use of learning technologies and tools.
• Coach and mentor Instructional Designers on the ADDIE model and ensure quality through QA reviews.
• Estimate project costs, develop schedules, and manage execution to meet time and budget targets.
• Facilitate project meetings such as kick‑offs, betas, train‑the‑trainer sessions, and pilots.
• Track project status, report to stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement based on training effectiveness metrics.
• Archive course materials and complete project close‑out activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 5 years of instructional design experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or mentoring role.
• Strong background designing classroom and technical/trades training programs.
• Proven experience managing small to mid‑size projects.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
