Senior Ground Software Engineer

About the role

Reflect Orbital is looking for a senior engineer to design, build, and operate the software that powers satellite ground operations. You will own major components of the ground segment from concept through deployment and provide 24/7 on‑call support for mission‑critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ground software for telemetry ingestion, processing, display, and command uplink workflows.
• Lead the creation of operator‑facing tools, dashboards, and automation for pass execution, routine commanding, and alerting.
• Deploy and operate software on AWS and Kubernetes, managing CI/CD pipelines, configuration, and infrastructure as code.
• Integrate ground‑station hardware, network interfaces, and GSaaS providers, validating end‑to‑end data paths.
• Troubleshoot issues across software, networks, ground stations, and mission systems, and mentor junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years developing ground systems software and owning end‑to‑end deployments.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and on‑call production support.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, VPNs, and secure connectivity.
