Ground Software Engineer

About the role

As a Satellite Ground Software Engineer at Reflect Orbital, you will design, build, and operate the software that enables our operations team to command and monitor spacecraft. The role blends hands‑on development with platform and network engineering, requiring rapid delivery and high ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain ground software for telemetry ingestion, processing, display, and command uplink workflows.
• Build operator‑facing tools, dashboards, and automation for pass execution, routine commanding, and alerting.
• Deploy and operate software on AWS and Kubernetes, managing CI/CD pipelines, configuration, and infrastructure as code.
• Integrate ground‑station hardware and network interfaces, configure GSaaS connections, and validate end‑to‑end data paths.
• Monitor system health with observability tools, validate software against simulators, and provide 24/7 on‑call support.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years developing ground‑systems software (services, APIs, applications).
• Experience deploying and operating software on AWS with Kubernetes and CI/CD.
• Strong understanding of networking protocols, routing, VPNs, and secure connectivity.
