Senior Fullstack Software Engineer, DX

About the role

Atlassian is looking for a senior full-stack engineer to join its DX team. The role suits someone comfortable working in a Ruby on Rails codebase and raw SQL as well as building accessible UIs in React and TailwindCSS. You will work end-to-end on features, from refining problem statements with product and design to shipping code and measuring impact.

Key responsibilities

• Build and ship features and capabilities daily in a highly scalable, cross-geo distributed environment.
• Focus on backend-heavy full-stack development: build robust REST APIs and contribute to customer-facing React components.
• Review code with attention to readability, testing, documentation, reliability, security and performance.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers and product managers to understand user pain points and iterate on solutions.
• Ensure visibility, error reporting and monitoring of high-performing backend services.
• Take part in Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning and retrospectives.
• Write performant raw SQL for complex queries, reports and data workflows.
• Work with product and design to shape problem statements and propose technical solutions when specs are incomplete.
• Own projects end-to-end: architecture, implementation, self-QA, rollout, monitoring and iteration.
• Improve engineering practices, tooling and standards, especially around data correctness, reporting and reliability.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience building backend applications with a lean towards full-stack capabilities.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferably Computer Science or equivalent experience).
• Experience with highly scalable, performant RESTful microservices.
• Fluency in at least one database technology (RDBMS such as Postgres and/or NoSQL such as DynamoDB).
• Familiarity with cloud architecture patterns and hands-on experience with public cloud offerings (AWS preferred).

Required skills

• Modern object-oriented languages such as Java, Kotlin, Go, Scala or Python.
• JavaScript/TypeScript and supporting libraries such as React and Node.
• Raw SQL and REST API development.

What we offer

• Base pay for new hires depending on location: Zone A $180,000-$235,000, Zone B $162,000-$211,500, Zone C $149,400-$195,050.
