Senior Estimator

About the role

CB&I, which offers integrated storage and asset-management solutions, is hiring a Senior Estimator in Plainfield, Illinois. The role handles estimates with minimal supervision, reports directly to the Estimating Manager and works with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain and Fabrication teams to develop fully priced estimates. It is a permanent position at the regional office, with possible temporary assignment to project sites.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates using access to historical financial and project data, new pricing and rates
• Prepare estimates for commercial proposals in collaboration with engineering, production, procurement, subcontracting, human resources and operations groups
• Manage projects and processes independently with limited supervision, dealing with difficult and complex problems
• Meet estimate deadlines and produce accurate estimates
• Train and develop direct reports while maintaining a succession plan for the role
• Work within existing gate reviews and annual performance reviews

Required profile

• Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering; professional degree required
• Typically 10 years since first degree and 15+ years of relevant experience
• 5 to 10+ years in an estimating role
• Organizational level N4+, reporting to a Manager or Senior of Estimating
