Senior Engineering Manager, GTM Systems (SalesTech)
Atlassian · Austin
Job description
About the role
Atlassian is looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager, GTM Systems, to lead its global Sales Technology (SalesTech) engineering team. You will lead a globally distributed team of software engineers and technical partners who build and scale Atlassian's Go-To-Market engine, overseeing the core Salesforce ecosystem (Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud) and third-party tools such as Gong, Outreach, LinkedIn Navigator and Clay.
Key responsibilities
- Lead, mentor and grow a globally distributed team of full-stack engineers, Salesforce developers and integration specialists, and foster a culture of technical excellence and operational hygiene.
- Manage sprint planning, capacity forecasting and resource allocation across foundation programs, new product introductions and operational support.
- Set architectural vision and engineering standards across Salesforce, custom full-stack apps and backend microservices.
- Stabilize and re-architect critical data flows, especially Commerce Control Plane to Salesforce, ensuring high reliability and zero data loss or duplication.
- Champion modern full-stack practices, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines (SFDX, Bitbucket Pipelines, AWS).
- Lead design reviews, API contracts and architecture governance across 20+ interconnected systems.
- Partner with Product Managers, Solution Architects, TPMs and Sales Operations leaders, and drive initiatives for usage-based pricing, ramp deals, enterprise licensing, quoting platforms and Partner Central.
- Maintain observability and alert monitoring to reduce ACV revenue leakage and entitlement sync issues.
Required profile
- 12+ years of software engineering experience in enterprise B2B SaaS, with at least 4+ years managing engineering teams of 15+ people.
- Proven delivery of enterprise-scale Quote-to-Cash, Lead-to-Opportunity, CPQ, entitlements and renewals workflows.
- Deep architectural and hands-on knowledge of Salesforce (Sales Cloud, Experience Cloud / Partner Communities), including Apex, LWC, Platform Events, Flow, SOQL/SOSL and governor limits; Salesforce certifications strongly preferred.
- Clear, executive-level communication and ability to balance incident fixes with long-term system improvements.
Required skills
- Backend and full-stack development with Java (Spring Boot), Node.js, React/TypeScript or Python.
- RESTful APIs, GraphQL, event-driven architectures (Kafka, SQS/SNS, webhooks).
- Relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) and AWS serverless services (Lambda, ECS, S3, API Gateway).
- Integration platforms and middleware (Workato or custom microservice pipelines).
- Nice to have: subscription/billing platforms (Zuora, Oracle Fusion), marketing automation tools (Marketo, Contentful, Outreach/Gainsight), and AI-assisted development tools.
The role is remote, based in Austin, United States. Base pay for new hires ranges from $167,328 to $263,200 depending on the pay zone, and the role may be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions and equity.
