Senior Electrical Field Engineer (On-Site)

About the role

ISG, founded in 1973, is a multi-disciplinary, employee-owned firm offering architecture, engineering, environmental and planning services. It is hiring a Senior Electrical Field Engineer who applies engineering and construction knowledge across a wide range of assignments, coordinates design engineers and construction teams, and works onsite in Mojave, California.

Key responsibilities

• Interface with clients, contractors, electricians, construction managers and vendors on delivery schedules and installation requirements
• Track construction progress, answer field questions about design and review the project design team's work
• Perform field measurements independently and coordinate the discipline's work with others
• Work with code officials on code interpretations or exceptions, and assume responsibility for engineering field changes
• Prepare or review construction budgets and direct construction support and observation on large, complex projects
• Make recommendations or decisions on unusual issues and help develop design staff

Required profile

• 5+ years of consulting or facilities engineering/design experience, including at least 2 years onsite construction experience
• Knowledge of building codes, the National Electrical Code and the National Electric Safety Code
• Experience coordinating with power providers and utilities, and strong knowledge of power equipment and substation systems
• Familiarity with overhead transmission and distribution construction
• Valid driver's license

• Autodesk Revit and Navisworks
• PC/Windows environment, e-mail, word processing and spreadsheets
• Project management fundamentals, scheduling and constructability
