About the role

The Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis is seeking a senior economist to support U.S. policy formulation through expert analysis of near‑term and long‑term economic issues. The role involves original research, publication, and providing commentary on current developments.

Key responsibilities

• Produce high‑quality economic research for peer‑reviewed journals, academic books, and working papers.
• Contribute to the Division’s research environment by participating in seminars, engaging with visiting scholars, and attending external conferences.
• Provide quantitative and qualitative analysis to support pre‑FOMC preparations and other System policy activities.
• Help communicate economic issues to the public.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in economics.
• Demonstrated outstanding scholarly achievement and professional reputation, evidenced by publications in top‑tier field journals and active professional involvement.
