Senior Director, Partnerships Analytics

About the role

Ethos, a life insurance technology company, is hiring a Senior Director of Analytics for its Third-Party Agent Business, a remote US position. The role is the primary analytics and data science voice for the leadership team, helping it decide where to focus, what is working and what to build next. You will lead and grow the analytics team, set the strategic agenda and ensure data and insight sit at the center of every important decision.

Key responsibilities

• Define and quantify the levers driving the business across the agent journey: sourcing, onboarding, activation, productivity and retention, and frame the right questions for leadership.
• Set up a repeatable testing and measurement cadence for the agent product, using experimentation, instrumentation, funnel diagnostics and causal analysis.
• Own the core data foundations: accurate calculation and payment of agent commissions, debt resolution, retention measurement and lifecycle attribution.
• Set the vision for using AI to automate insight generation and expand self-serve analytics.
• Inherit and grow the analytics organization, setting standards for hiring, performance and craft.
• Partner with product, engineering, sales, operations, marketing and finance, and support the direct-to-consumer annuities business with tracking, funnel analytics and A/B testing.

Required profile

• 10+ years in analytics, with 5+ years building and leading teams of managers and individual contributors.
• First-principles problem solver who breaks down unfamiliar business questions into the structures, data and decisions that matter.
• Proactive, driven leader who sets the agenda and works fast.
• B2B2C experience preferred, across enterprise accounts, small businesses, agents, uplines and end consumers; fintech, marketplaces, real estate tech and insurance are relevant.

Required skills

• Strong business analytics and solid product analytics fluency.
• SQL, experimentation, causal inference and instrumentation.
• Track record of fixing definitions, dictionaries, taxonomies and data quality problems at scale.
• Clear communication to executives and with engineering on data modeling.

The US national base salary range is $193,000 - $340,000; the range covers all US locations and reflects base salary only, excluding bonus, equity and benefits.
