Senior Director, National Accounts

About the role

Recess is seeking a Senior Director of National Accounts to lead relationships with key retail partners such as Kroger and Albertsons. The role combines strategic planning with hands‑on execution to grow volume, revenue, and market share for the brand’s functional beverage portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve volume, revenue, and market‑share targets while monitoring key performance indicators (ACV, promo efficiency, trade ROI).
• Manage trade and promotional budgets to ensure efficient spend aligned with team goals.
• Create and deliver customized sales pitch decks tailored to each major account.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers and senior account stakeholders.
• Oversee P&L for slotting, promotions, and other customer‑related expenses.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Finance, Marketing, Supply Chain, and other internal teams to execute account plans.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within key channels.
• Provide accurate, timely reporting on promotional schedules and customer activity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 5+ years of CPG sales experience, ideally in mass or grocery channels.
• Proven experience working with major retailers such as Kroger and Albertsons.
• Demonstrated ability to drive profitable growth and manage complex account relationships.
• Strategic thinker with a hands‑on execution mindset.
