Senior Director Manager – Software Engineering

About the role

Moody's is seeking a senior technology leader to head the Tooling Platform organization within its Data Estate. Reporting to the Data Estate Head of Technology, you will define the vision for a unified, AI‑enabled platform that modernizes and scales the applications used to produce trusted, high‑quality data.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Data Estate Tooling Platform team, establishing mission, operating model, portfolio and roadmap aligned to business priorities.
• Define and deliver a unified platform for data management and operational workflows, reducing fragmentation and enabling reusable capabilities.
• Modernize existing tooling through consolidation, re‑platforming and retirement while protecting critical workflow stability.
• Set architecture, service boundaries, integration patterns and engineering standards in partnership with security, DevOps and QA.
• Recruit, develop and retain a high‑performing global engineering organization, coaching managers and senior technical leaders.

Required profile

• 15+ years of software engineering experience with proven leadership of technology managers and multidisciplinary teams in a global organization.
• Strong product and customer mindset, able to translate data domain needs into a prioritized roadmap with measurable outcomes.
• Excellent organizational leadership, talent development, stakeholder management and clear communication skills.
• Experience establishing engineering standards, quality metrics and platform adoption indicators that improve speed without compromising reliability.

Required skills

• Full‑stack web development (responsive UI, APIs, services, distributed systems, cloud platforms).
• Data integration, secure software delivery and operational controls for high‑quality, auditable data.
• AI concepts and hands‑on experience with AI tools to streamline workflows and build AI‑enabled products.
• DevOps, automated testing, observability, security, reliability and production support.
