Senior Director, Investments

About the role

Compound Planning, a fast‑growing digital family office, is seeking a Senior Director, Investments to lead its alternatives investment function. The role will own due‑diligence, portfolio construction and translate investment insights into actionable guidance for wealth advisors and their clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Alternatives team: conduct research, due‑diligence and ongoing monitoring of private credit, private equity, venture capital, real estate, infrastructure, hedge funds and other diversifiers.
• Chair the Alternative Investment Sub‑committee, set agendas, present recommendations and ensure follow‑through.
• Manage manager relationships and evaluate them on return sources, liquidity, fees and client value.
• Develop allocation frameworks, liquidity and diversification guidelines alongside traditional investments and contribute to public‑markets sub‑committee decisions.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to embed investment intelligence into internal tools.
• Partner with wealth advisors on portfolio construction, complex client conversations and build scalable education on alternatives.
• Coordinate with CIO, Investment Committee, compliance, legal, operations and trading to meet regulatory and implementation requirements.

Required profile

• 7+ years of relevant investment experience in RIA, multi‑family office, OCIO, consulting, allocating or asset management.
• Direct alternatives due‑diligence experience combined with strong public‑markets, ETF and asset‑allocation knowledge.
• Proven track record presenting to investment committees and client‑facing experience.
• Excellent quantitative and qualitative analysis and communication abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree required; CFA or CAIA designation preferred or in progress.
