Senior Director, AI Strategy and Enablement

About the role

BBYO seeks a senior leader to build lasting AI capability across the organization, turning emerging technology into practical, mission‑aligned work. The role reports to the SVP of Operational Effectiveness and partners with senior leadership, IT, and various departments to embed AI into everyday practice.

Key responsibilities

• Define AI vision, governance, and responsible‑use principles for the organization.
• Advise teams on high‑value AI opportunities, redesign workflows, and ensure processes are solid before automation.
• Develop and oversee AI enablement programs, including training, hands‑on support, and peer learning.
• Guide data strategy, cleanup, and governance to unlock AI‑driven insights.
• Partner with technology staff to select, prototype, and roll out AI platforms while ensuring security and data integrity.

Required profile

• 7+ years in technology, systems, operations, digital transformation or related fields with progressive responsibility.
• Proven change‑leadership experience moving teams from curiosity to sustained AI practice.
• Strong communication and influence skills, able to explain technical concepts in plain language.
• Comfort with ambiguity and ability to thrive in a fast, decentralized, entrepreneurial environment.

Required skills

• Hands‑on fluency with current AI tools and awareness of their limits.
• Experience prototyping AI solutions and evaluating vendor claims.
• Process mapping and business analysis expertise.
• Data literacy for recommending cleanup, shared definitions, and better questioning.
• Familiarity with Claude, Microsoft 365, Copilot, and Salesforce.
