Senior DevOps Engineer (Contract / Remote)

About the role

EnrollWise, a leading enrollment management platform for U.S. school districts, is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to audit its AWS infrastructure and Python/Django application, and guide the transition to a multi‑tenant architecture. This contract role is fully remote within the United States and requires collaboration during US business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a comprehensive audit of AWS services (ECS, Fargate, Terraform IaC, CloudWatch, Sentry) and the Python/Django codebase to identify scalability, performance, reliability, and security gaps.
• Recommend and implement high‑availability and fault‑tolerant designs, including elastic scaling for peak enrollment periods.
• Design and deploy a shared‑tenant instance model with data isolation, independent scaling per tenant, and compliance with security standards.
• Lead load‑testing efforts and propose performance optimisations.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, and integrate observability tools for proactive monitoring and alerting.

Required profile

• 7+ years of DevOps experience building high‑traffic, high‑availability SaaS applications.
• Proven expertise with AWS services (ECS, Fargate, S3, CloudFront, WAF, CloudWatch) and Terraform.
• Familiarity with Python/Django ecosystems, GraphQL (Graphene), Celery task queues, PostgreSQL and Redis.
• Experience designing multi‑tenant architectures with strong isolation and security.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to communicate technical recommendations clearly.
