Senior Developer, Item Data

About the role

The Senior Developer, Item Data is the technical authority for the lifecycle of product information. The role builds robust data pipelines and data models that serve as a reliable source of truth, and creates reporting suites and visualizations that turn complex item data into actionable insights. It sits under the Manager, Online and has no direct reports.

Key responsibilities

• Define, plan and implement solutions on moderately complex projects (30%).
• Take business requirements and develop the full technical design for moderately complex projects (25%).
• Conduct test reviews and present them to architecture review boards when needed (20%).
• Follow corporate and regulatory processes, policies and standards (15%).
• Provide technical direction to associate developers, developers and contractors (10%).
• Build and automate ETL workflows with rigorous validation to protect data integrity.
• Develop dashboards and self-service reporting tools for executives and operational stakeholders.
• Partner with site experience and merchandising teams to deliver predictive insights on performance and lifecycle management.

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States.
• 3 to 5+ years of experience in a data analytics role, preferably in retail or merchandising.
• Experience developing new application systems for production.
• Ability to work independently with minimal direction and to communicate complex data concepts to technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.

Required skills

• SQL and/or other programming languages (e.g., Python, R) for manipulating large datasets.
• ETL frameworks and schema design.
• Data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
• Working in GBQ.
