Senior Designer

About the role

Equinox, a luxury health, wellness and hospitality group, is looking for a highly conceptual Senior Designer to join its creative team in New York. The role reports to the Creative Director and is central to elevating the design language, upholding the brand's creative excellence and evolving its design systems. The ideal candidate is both a strong designer and a proven art director with hands-on shoot experience, comfortable leading creatives on set.

Key responsibilities

• Evolving design systems across brand campaigns and owned channels (email, web, app, social and paid media) so that the visual identity is consistent and scalable.
• Setting the visual direction for projects and governing templates, component libraries and asset toolkits.
• Exploring how tools such as generative AI can be built into design systems and workflows, for example to scale growth asset variations.
• Serving as a senior creative resource and mentor, auditing work and refining the brand's visual language.
• Guarding the brand's visual integrity across campaigns, digital, social, print, environmental, experiential and internal communications.
• Preparing moodboards and strategic rationale, interpreting and evolving brand guidelines, and partnering with creative leadership on the brand's visual future.

Required profile

• 5-7 years of experience in graphic design or a hybrid creative role, ideally in luxury, fashion, lifestyle, wellness or premium consumer brands.
• Demonstrated experience leading design for a team, giving feedback and mentoring others.
• Experience building and maintaining design systems, templates and brand guidelines at scale.
• On-set art direction experience across stills and video, and solid understanding of print production.
• Able to travel for on-location shoots and club walkthroughs.
• Must have a legal right to work in the United States.

Required skills

• Advanced Figma, including components, variables and shared libraries.
• Advanced InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Premiere and After Effects.
• Web and app design best practices, typography and layout.
• Interest in or working knowledge of generative AI.
