About the role
Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join the F119 Fan/HPC Component Integrated Product Team. The role focuses on investigating field incidents, developing service limits, and supporting producibility improvements for military engine components.
Key responsibilities
- Lead design investigations of USAF-reported engine field incidents and determine root causes.
- Develop serviceable wear limits for engine parts used by the USAF.
- Support or lead producibility improvement studies with multiple vendors.
- Conduct first‑piece engineering reviews both remotely and on‑site at vendor facilities.
- Assist in safety risk analyses and create mitigation plans.
- Present findings to customers and program management.
- Analyze and resolve quality non‑conformances and respond to supplier requests for information.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years relevant experience, or an advanced degree with 3+ years experience.
- U.S. Person status or eligibility for required export authorizations.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
