Senior Databricks DevOps Engineer

About the role

Satsyil Corp, a technology solutions provider for government and commercial clients, is looking for a Senior Databricks DevOps Engineer in Washington DC / Tysons, VA. The engineer designs, automates and maintains enterprise-scale Databricks environments, owns CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, workspace governance and operational reliability, and acts as a technical leader and mentor on the team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deploy and manage Databricks workspaces on AWS, Azure or GCP using infrastructure as code (Terraform, Databricks Terraform Provider, ARM/Bicep or CloudFormation).
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for notebooks, jobs, Delta Live Tables, ML models and libraries.
• Administer Unity Catalog, including metastore configuration, access controls, data lineage and audit logging.
• Configure and optimize clusters, SQL warehouses, cluster policies and job compute.
• Set up security best practices: network isolation, secrets management, SCIM, SSO and role-based access control.
• Develop monitoring, alerting and observability solutions; automate environment promotion and release management.
• Support MLOps workflows and troubleshoot platform and performance issues.
• Mentor junior engineers and ensure compliance with requirements such as FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, FISMA, HIPAA or SOC 2.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in DevOps, cloud infrastructure or platform engineering, with at least 3 years hands-on with Databricks.
• Public Trust or Secret clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• Preferred: Databricks certifications, experience with federal programs or regulated industries.

Required skills

• Terraform and the Databricks Terraform Provider.
• Deep expertise in one cloud platform (Azure, AWS or GCP).
• CI/CD pipelines, Python, Bash or PowerShell, Git workflows.
• Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Lakehouse architecture, Unity Catalog.
• Preferred: Databricks Asset Bundles, Delta Live Tables, Docker/Kubernetes, MLflow, FinOps.
