Senior Data Scientist (Geo Search)

About the role

InDrive’s Geo Search team powers the search experience for millions of riders worldwide, handling complex geographic contexts where commercial maps are often incomplete. As a Senior Data Scientist you will design and deploy machine‑learning systems that drive search ranking, session‑based recommendations, and multi‑objective personalization at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build deep‑learning models for search ranking, recommendation, and pickup‑point selection.
• Incorporate geographic context into ranking algorithms and own the end‑to‑end recommendation pipeline.
• Translate business objectives into clear ML goals with defined non‑functional requirements.
• Lead evaluation from offline metrics to online A/B test design and analysis.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to move prototypes to production, ensuring low‑latency model serving.
• Work with product managers and operations to turn behavior analysis into concrete features.
• Own the production ML lifecycle: monitoring, drift detection, and automated retraining pipelines.

Required profile

• Academic background in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of machine‑learning engineering experience, with at least three years deploying deep‑learning models in production.
• Hands‑on experience with search, NLP, ranking, recommendation, or relevance systems.
• Proven ability to design an ML system from data collection to production serving.
• Experience turning business goals into ML problems with appropriate proxy metrics.
